Adult Ongoing - Saturdays

These courses are for students with basic to advanced clay skills who wish to increase their skill level while working in a group setting. Our instructors build curriculum around the goals of the individuals in each class and the class dynamic. We will help you get the most out of your studio time and art experience. 

 Whether you work in wheel, hand building, tile making, extrusion, slabs, molds, extrusion, sculpture or any combination, our Ceramic studio is equipped to meet your needs. Our beautiful open space is bathed in natural light and is an ideal creative space. Carve some time out of your busy life and create unique gifts for your self and others. 

Cost of this course includes 25 lbs. clay, tool access & two hours of instruction weekly and virtually unlimited open studio access.  

A registration fee of $1.99 per course will be added to cover the cost of administration of this site.

Adult Intro to Clay

Calendar Sep 30, 2021 at 6 pm, runs for 4 weeks

If you have always wanted to try your hand at clay this is the way to do it! Our small classes insure personal attention and guidance as you learn the basics and execute simple hand built projects. By the end of your course you will have explored several construction techniques including Pinch, Coil, Slab & Extrusion.  As your creations work their way through the processes of drying and firing, we will explore surface decoration and glaze application. Along the way you will become familiar with the basic properties of stoneware clay and the associated terminology. By the second week of this course you will have gained enough knowledge to consider our Basic Wheel Workshop.

Grab a friend you wish you could spend more time with and jump in! What could be better than playing together in the mud!

Adult Clay Club - October

This is an enrollment space for October

We have lifted some of our Covid protocols. Members are not currently required to use the self scheduling calendar. The studio is open from 8 am to 8 pm daily for enrolled members only.

Registrants will receive a new key code and our simple protocols that outline individual responsibilities for opening and closing studio space.

Studio rental fee will be $115 per month and clay will be $37 per bag. We hope to offer instructional videos to help you reinforce & advance your skills as you distance-gather with friends.

Adult Clay Quarter: Oct, Nov & Dec

Starting in July 2021, MakerSphere will be offering a discount for quarterly memberships.

Four times a year members will be able to enroll at a reduced rate when they are able to commit to three months.

Our monthly membership fees are $115.00 in July so enrolling for the quarter for $315 is a $30 savings.

All members have one storage shelf, the code for the building, access to all ceramic equipment & many tools and moulds. Stoneware clay is sold by the bag $37. Studio glazes & all regular firings are included.

Carving Wooden Spoons

Calendar Oct 4, 2021 at 6:30 pm, runs for 2 weeks

Learn how to carve your own wooden spoon. This 3-hour workshop (two, 1 ½-hour sessions) will immerse you in the art of wood carving. Students will learn how to properly work with the tools to gain a good understanding of the process of carving. Students will receive wood blanks and will have the use of a knife, gouge, and safety glove. This small class offers plenty of opportunity for interaction and feedback from the instructor.

Full Course

Beginner Sewing Workshop


with Jenn Grant

Calendar Oct 15, 2021 at 6 pm, runs for 3 weeks

This class is for those with little or no experience using a sewing machine and a pattern. All materials including fabric and notions are provided. Sewing machines will be available for use; owning one is not necessary. Students will leave with a finished apron project, sewing kit with shears, and basic sewing supplies to keep sewing.

This workshop consists of three, 2-hour sessions and includes: an introduction to sewing equipment, terminology, how to read a pattern, selection of fabric / notions, pattern layout, pinning, cutting and sewing.

Bringing your own machine is optional if it is in good working order. If you would like to have your machine checked to confirm its working order, arrangements may be made to drop it off one week prior to the class for inspection.
