This is a beginner acrylic painting class with an emphasis on color theory. Students will begin with a general introduction to the color wheel, complimentary colors, light and value. Students will explore the idea that “color is relative”. Using only red, blue, and yellow, students will practice and learn how to mix colors and will work toward achieving a specific color presented to them. Students will then complete a landscape painting utilizing color theory and color mixing skills. Each step of the process will be demonstrated by the instructor and students will also receive individual guidance.

Course fee $132 plus $23 materials; students take home and keep the brush set and palette knife
